Broken Arrow: Tulsa’s Biggest Suburb
Broken Arrow is a city located in the northeastern part of Oklahoma, primarily in Tulsa County. It is the largest suburb of Tulsa. Though Broken Arrow was originally an agricultural community, its current economy is diverse. The city has the third largest concentration of manufacturers in the state. Beyond its economy, Broken Arrow has received multiple awards for its affordability, low crimes rate, and environmental consciousness. Approximately a decade ago, the city adopted a downtown revitalization master plan to help revive the city’s historic downtown area. The rejuvenation momentum was invigorated by a more walkable environment with wider sidewalks and decorative lighting rose-filled planters and landscaping added along the sidewalks to enhance the Rose District theme. The district now features restaurants, live music, events, shops, museums, the farmers' market pavilion, a wide variety of businesses, and the Performing Arts Center. The ultimate goal for downtown Broken Arrow is to continue with an urban development theme that blends with the interesting historic buildings.
